Oakridge was one of the last parts of Vancouver to be developed which resulted in many bungalow homes being built in the 50's and 60's. Many of these smaller homes have been torn down and replaced with larger homes in the past 10 years. The lots are generally large and the the streets are lined with mature trees. Oakridge is bordered by Granville Street and Main street, and 41st and 57th Avenue. The Oakridge Shopping Centre was the first shopping centre to be built in Vancouver.
